I will not compare myself to anyone

Haven’t posted a while in fitness and honestly I love fitness I think more then… Dare I say fashion? the verdict will remain out.? the reason why I tend to lean towards fitness is because if I was forced to not have one I know I would definitely go without fashion and choose fitness. Working out is one of my main stress relievers! it’s my go to when I just need to get away and breath. I had realized in the last couple of months I was very uninspired about most things.. but especially feeling low about fitness. I would go no matter what and work out but I would just kinda get through my routine. I had to step back and realize what was happening and head back to the drawing board and remember why I love fitness in the first place. I realized that I was also comparing myself alot to others.. not good:( I have always had moments where I would do this but I had become very good at not doing that and being content in who God made me to be. Well I guess I just really got into this habit where I didn’t even realize that it was affecting me in the way that it was. I was comparing myself to other athletes capabilities and bodies and this just did my head in where I felt really defeated!!! urrrggg and frusterated!!! I began to dislike my body and the way my broad shoulders which equals bigger arms and narrow hips! My mom and sister have big hips and bigger boobs!.. me I took after my dad.. >:/ thanks DAD!!;)

Anyways after months of struggling I feel like it finally kinda clicked in my head, I am who I am.. my body is how it is and how God made it. I just finally got a feeling of contentment and also realizing that it’s okay to be just how he made you. I decided to be happy with it and be proud of how I am built and embrace it instead of trying to hide it. There is beauty in every shape and size and I truly believe that, but most of all it comes down to being content with how me made you and accepting that. The best advice I can give is to work WITH what God gave you instead of against it. Nothing wrong with self improvement as long as it is realistic.

You don’t have to try and live up to these HIGH expectations the world tries to place on you and very unrealistic ones I might add.. Barbie boobs, waist hip ratio is very unrealistic. If you happen to be that lucky girl that has it all, well then you just do. But there is no reason for others to try and compete to be like that very low percentage of the population “it girl”. Just don’t guys you will be much happier if you just aim to the best you, you can be physically.

I focus on function, strength and also love the challenge to see what my body can do and accomplish.  Okay enough of the rant! let me know what you guys think and how you feel about this..? any comments are welcomed.

xoxo,

Sophia

Healthy eating and Working out

I have been into working out for some years now and try to take it pretty seriously. I usually don’t have any problem psyching myself out to get up and workout but the eating area has always required more discipline from me. Anybody who takes your health and fitness seriously knows that you have to plan in advance and well it isn’t always easy! but def not impossible.

I ultimately try and aim for anywhere from 4-6 healthy smaller meals through the day and always aim to incorporate some healthy protein and good carbs in each meal.

here are some of the meals I have been eating lately

I am not where I want to be but I am not where I used to be either!! I try not to get down on myself but try to just stay focused and positive/realistic about change. It doesn’t come over night, something we can/I tend to forget. The main thing you have to remember is that consistency is what develops long-term change.

I keep my mind focused on positive, things and people and people who inspire me to grow. Some of my favorite athletes are Michelle welcome, Chady Dunmore, Jennifer Nicole lee and Lauramustloseweight. They each inspire me in their own way, when I think of it all but one have shared their personal weightloss struggle and the moment they decided to change!

Ultimately you have to want it bad enough and more then the taste of any one food! a person can inspire you/me but as CORNY or Cheesy as it sounds change does really start within.

I workout anywhere from 4-6 times a week and this does vary depending on my goals and where I think I might be lacking. Lately I have been hitting weights like 3-4 times a week and doing some HIT, plyo and interval type workouts. Another important thing is don’t over think losing weight and working out. You just have to get up and do it!! like NIKE:)

overhead lunges with tire, burpees with tire and overhead raise

Forward and Backward sprints with tires

Sprints on bleachers

Good ol drills on track

Hope this post was helpful, let me know what you guys are eating and doing? I would love to hear what works for you!

until next time xoxo Sophia

This weeks TOP 5

These are my top 5 picks of the week, they will mainly be fashion but not always and will be anything that I like or inspires me.

1.Pin Board is a virtual pinboard that let’s you organize things you love. I accidently came across it and since then have been back on every day looking for inspirational motivation and uplifting words. You have to send a request to be invited but after you do you can organize almost anything from food, fashion or inspirational words. You can always just search for what your looking for and browse without signing up.

2. Etsy.com, is a online shop that lets you buy or sell basically or almost anything handmade such as clothing and crafts. I love this website, they have so many unique one of a kind items that you will most likely not see any where else.

3.Heels.com is a online shoe retailer, that sells obviously heels, they carry a variety of brands but what I love about them is that they have a video of every shoe being worn/displayed with video. This can help you decide if you really want them since you can see what they look on feet.

4.BodyRock.tv this may not be new to many people but for those of you who haven’t heard of their online movement for at home fitness, I find it inspirational (just alone that they are superbly in shape) but they also seem to genuinley love what they do. I have tried their workouts and they are challenging but none the less are note worthy and work!

5. John Lennon’s song IMAGINE (What a wonderful concept) lately his works and message to the World has truly inspired me to not only educate myself but also to do more in this World and to live my life without boundries.
